eSIMs are all the rage!

In fact, most major telecom operators in Poland are now offering eSIM as an option along with physical SIM cards. The transition is picking up pace, and the day when eSIMs are the norm isn’t too far away!

But why are eSIMs suddenly becoming popular?

The fact is that eSIMs were already pretty popular among travelers. The convenience of eSIMs when travelling abroad is second to none.

And then Apple came along and decided to launch eSIM-only versions of iPhones for select regions. This boosted the already rising popularity of eSIMs.

4G was introduced in Poland in 2011 and rapidly spread to other parts of the country.

By 2013–2014, a majority of people in Poland had 4G coverage, approximately 35%. But this was limited to urban centers; rural areas still had to make do with 3G or 2G.

Thanks to the expansion efforts of Poland’s telecom operators, the country achieved 100% 4G coverage in 2023.

But many countries in Europe were on their way to 100% 5G coverage during this time. Switzerland and Finland had already launched commercial 5G networks by 2018-2019.

Studying abroad — or simply moving overseas for work or a holiday — is a huge adventure. A new place, culture, friends, and educational or career opportunities await. However, the first weeks after arrival can be demanding: you need to sort out accommodation, documents, university matters, work… and staying connected with your loved ones.

Reliable internet access and affordable international calls are essential for expats coming to Poland. That’s why more and more people are choosing an international eSIM instead of a traditional SIM card.

2G and 3G are old news!

What was once the pinnacle of cellular technology is now being slowly phased out.

They’re being replaced by the more advanced 4G and 5G.

In fact, the 2G and 3G switch-off in Poland is rapidly gaining pace, with major network operators asking their customers to upgrade their devices to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.

If you’re still on a 2G/3G connection, then the time has come for you to buy a smartphone with 4G/5G connectivity.

Tunisia is one of North Africa’s hidden gems, boasting a culture that blends Arab, European, African, and Berber influences.

The people aside, Tunisia is also gifted when it comes to landmarks.

Get lost in the Medina of Tunis, a maze of narrow passageways lined with small bazaars (souks) selling tapestries, clothing, perfumes, jewelry, and Tunisian delicacies.

Or feast your eyes on the El Jem Amphitheater, the largest coliseum in North Africa.

Have you ever visited Cyprus? If you haven’t, then you probably should.

Cyprus is known for its beautiful sun-kissed beaches and harbors that exude traditional charm. The island nation sees a healthy number of visitors, roughly 4 million per year. Cyprus is also the 40th most popular destination in the world.

There are many things someone who’s visiting Cyprus will need.

A mobile connection in Cyprus is one of them.

Because with a mobile connection, a tourist gets access to cheap internet in Cyprus (or sometimes free!), making their stay a lot more pleasant.
